Overview
Competitive neutrality requires that government business activities should not enjoy any net competitive advantages simply by virtue of public sector ownership. This allows market competition to drive the efficient production of goods and services by the lowest cost business.
Treasury has established a Competitive Neutrality Review Secretariat to review the Commonwealth's Competitive Neutrality Policy. This is the first review since the Commonwealth issued its Competitive Neutrality Policy Statement in 1996.
We are seeking the views of interested stakeholders on the issues detailed in the Consultation Paper. Links to the Policy, Guidelines and other relevant websites are available below.
Submissions must be received by 5pm Friday 21 April 2017.
