Consultation period: 25 July to 5 September 2025
Share your views on policy details to ban non-compete and other clauses. They restrict workers moving to better-paying and more productive jobs.
Give feedback on policy details to ban:
non-compete clauses for low‑ and middle‑income workers
no-poach agreements
wage-fixing agreements.
The paper asks whether we need reforms for:
non-compete clauses for high-income workers
non-solicitation clauses
employment restrictions on having multiple jobs.
Your feedback will help the government finalise policy details. This consultation includes feedback from an earlier consultation.
The government announced the reforms in the 2025–26 Budget. Read the media release on the ban.
