Have your say on the Retirement Reporting Framework. The framework will report the offerings and outcomes delivered to members in the retirement phase of superannuation.

This will encourage the sector to continuously improve. It also gives members more transparency.

Your feedback should focus on the framework’s indicators and metrics. They capture information on super funds’:

  • product offerings

  • member outcomes

  • cohorting practices.

Context

Your feedback will help the government finalise the framework. The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority will then consult on the framework's implementation.

The framework is part of the Improving the retirement phase of superannuation package.

The framework will work with the best practice principles for superannuation retirement income solutions. You can also give feedback on the principles.

The principles and framework build on the retirement income covenant’s obligations. They work together with the government’s Delivering Better Financial Outcomes package.

Outcomes

The Government has now released the final design of the Retirement Reporting Framework. The framework will report the offerings and outcomes delivered to members in the retirement phase of superannuation.

The Retirement Reporting Framework will leverage member data to report on:

  • Indicators of a superannuation fund’s product offerings and services.

  • Metrics that demonstrate member outcomes.

The framework is delivering on the Government’s Improving the retirement phase of superannuation package.

Next steps

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority will soon commence consultation on how to give effect to the collection and publication of the Retirement Reporting Framework. Data is expected to first be collected in 2027.
